I’ve been using the 3.0 version Arduino Nano on the 2020 Bot, which replaces usual FTDI USB to Serial converter with the less expensive CH340G.
Mac
Mac users should download drivers from https://github.com/adrianmihalko/ch340g-ch34g-ch34x-mac-os-x-driver
Other versions of the Mac driver may cause a hard crash of your Mac when you plug in the Nano, depending on the version of your OS.
Windows
Arduino Nano version 3.0 with the CH340G chips worked fine when I installed version 1.8.1 of the Arduino IDE, along with any of its drivers, under Windows 10. Unfortunately, I don’t have the resources to test older versions of Windows. Leave a comment if you have and have any suggestions.
